What is Compounding?
Porter’s Pharmacy and Compounding Lab is a pharmacy that is accredited by the Compounding Accreditation Board (PCAB). Porter's is classified as a "non-sterile" Compounding Pharmacy. This means that while we can prepare compounds, our labs are just not certified to prepare medications that are either injected or used on the eye. Compounding is the traditional art and science that pharmacists use to prepare customized medications in a laboratory to meet the unique medication needs of physicians and patients. Our Compounding Pharmacists work with licensed prescribers to prepare medications within our lab when traditional pharmaceutical products may not be suitable. We are able to customize medications according to desired pharmaceutical ingredients, dosing, administration route, and even flavoring if required. The ability for us to compound medications provides the opportunity to help patients and physicians in ways not available from typical retail pharmacies.
Porter's Pharmacy and Compounding Lab Is PCAB Accredited
Porter's Pharmacy and Compounding Lab is PCAB Accredited. This accreditation is purely voluntary and requires a strong commitment over a long period of time not only to acquire, but to maintain. It demonstrates our commitment to excellence. Achieving Accreditation from the Pharmacy Compounding Accreditation Board demonstrates compliance with meeting/exceeding the industry's most stringent national compounding standards. This provides Porter's a differentiating edge in the world of pharmacy compounding. We are committed to delivering the highest quality compounded medications with the highest level of service to the community we serve.
